In the evening in Mergui you could climb up to Theindawgyi pagoda and watch night fall over the archipelago. Three hundred years ago, Mergui was one of the most colorful seaports in Asia; the British pirate Siamese White was based here in the 17th Century. Now it's just a forgotten little town.
